A fantastic first visit at Totem Lake Family Dentistry. The process was very thorough. They explained everything to me as we went along. My teeth cleaning went very well. They are obviously very experienced and know what they're doing. The staff is very friendly and the office is very clean and professional. I set up my second visit. I'm looking forward to a long relationship with my new dentist!

Be extremely cautious of doing business with this dentists office. I had a cleaning done—my insurance covers it %100. This office DID NOT file my claim correctly, more than once. I had work done at a specialist and maxed out my coverage for the year—all of this planned in advance. Meanwhile, the charge for the cleaning is sitting out there, still misfiled. Over 8 months later I get a call from them saying I owe for the full cleaning. I called my insurance company and they told me this office had never even filled a claim with them. They said I was not the only one to call with this problem. They had misfiled many claims. When I called and told them it was their problem for not doing the paperwork they were hostile and said I would have to pay the whole thing. When I gave them an email from my dental insurance company showing they had never filed a claim with them. Apparently they were trying to file it with another state—they still are forcing me to pay this bill. I’m not made of money. I had to wait for a long time to get my dental work done because of finances. I planned it all carefully to make sure the maximum would be paid by my insurance. This is a severe tax upon my finan

The whole team at Totem Lake Family Dentistry is great. The hygienists are gentle but thorough, the front desk team is friendly, professional and efficient and Dr. Butani takes the time to explain dental issues and explore treatment options - and provides excellent dental care. I really appreciate having a dental team I can count on.

Extremely unpleasant and unprofessional experience. Scheduling was smooth and professional. I booked a new-patient examination, arrived on time, and was told they would take X-rays and images. No problem. Then, after I was already seated and ready to proceed, I was told that a blood pressure reading was required. This had never been mentioned during scheduling or before the appointment. I felt completely ambushed by a requirement that was only disclosed after I arrived. I politely explained that I was not comfortable with it, especially since this was only an examination and not a procedure. To my knowledge, routine blood pressure screening is not an ADA requirement for a basic dental exam, yet it was presented as a condition for moving forward. The more the issue was pushed, the more anxious and uncomfortable I became. What should have been a routine visit turned into a stressful confrontation. I ultimately informed the doctor that I was not comfortable proceeding that day and left. The most disappointing part was the receptionist’s behavior afterward. Instead of showing any understanding or compassion, she repeatedly told me, “You’re not a good fit.” Over and over. I found

This was the most comprehensive INITIAL dental exam I have had in my life. The thoroughness of the hygienist and the dentist is unmatched. Irene (hygienist) was attentive and continued to ensure the cleaning was going okay especially with my sensitivity and anxiety of the dentist- so much so, she stopped often to check on me and agreed on hand signals if it was too much. Dr. Butani examined my mouth and took notes of my palate, my uvula, my jaw, and my bite. I learned things I didn’t know about my mouth! Thank you to everyone there for your kindness, compassion, and dedication to my dental healthy and anxiety! I highly recommend this office for your dental needs!
